Conversion into a micropub from a pair of 18th-century former cottages close to the site of Leicester Castle and is next door to a former pub which closed many years ago. Previously operated by De Montfort University Students' Union, but now under new ownership. There is an upstairs area accessed by a tight stone circular stairway. Electric lighting has now superseded the original candle lighting. There is also a small enclosed courtyard drinking area.

Converted from a pair of mid-18th century former cottages. The building had been unused since it was an antiques shop in the 1990s. Next door on the left is a former pub, the 'Old Castle Inn' which closed many years ago.
