This Pub is Closed Long Term
(Pub closed, future uncertain). Formerly a stonemason's yard, an Italian restaurant and latterly a pub called the Stonemasons' Arms, its latest manifestation (July 2013) is as the Bulldog, billing itself as a 'sports bar', albeit selling three real ales. Entry at the front leads through the pool and table football room, followed by a separate sitting and drinking/dining area, and finally into the larger square-shaped bar room wherein resides the sports TV and a coin-operated boxing machine. The bar on the right sports three handpumps offering Tribute plus two other guest beers, often varied and which may be from regional or more local breweries. A continuous running sports commentary or piped music can be rather intrusive, but the atmosphere will clearly suit especially the younger drinker and sports fan. Buses stop outside the door.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
