Large dining pub close to Shawford Railway station. The interior features beamed ceilings and a flagstone floor. The pub's location right next to the Itchen Navigation means that it is popular with walkers and dog owners. There is a large terraced beer garden which can get very busy on sunny weekends. Refurbishments have ensured it is adapted for wheelchair users. Railway arch outside is the site of Victor Meldrew's fictional TV demise! Though tied, the manager was able to get local ales on through SIBA, but following the takeover of Chef & Brewer by Greene King this has ceased.
