At the heart of Bamford village and not far from Ladybower reservoir, this is a community hub in every sense, where the locals have owned the pub, which also incorporates the village post office and cafe, since 2013. The pub has recently been refurbished and leased out to a local company to run.
The bar boasts six handpumps and alongside the Theakstons is a changing range of local Peak District beers with Eyam and Intrepid breweries usually represented.
The pub has two cosy areas for drinkers along with a pool table plus a rustic dining room. Good quality meals are served at lunchtime and evening Tuesday to Saturday and all afternoon on Sundays.
The separate "Tricky Trout" Tea room opens serving food and drink 8am to 4pm daily with a breakfast menu served until midday and a selection of lunch dishes, soup and sandwiches in the afternoon.
