This 1600's pub adjacent to Hadrian's Wall, generally mainly sells ale from Newburn based Big Lamp Brewery. Located only a mile and a half north of Haltwhistle, this rural pub has a homely feel and the Hadrian's Wall bus stops outside (daily April - Sept and weekends during part of winter). Popular with ramblers and tourists. Food is locally sourced and customers travel from afar as Newcastle and Carlisle. The are also two comfy holiday cottages. Best to check opening times from September to Easter.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (One of the regular beers is sometimes replaced by a guest, currently alternating between Big Lamp Sunny Daze and Thwaites Wainwright.) and 2 regular beers.
