Very warm cosy traditional country pub, no jukebox, no fruit machine, real fires etc. Winter opening hours now apply until Feb/March 2017 - precise date not yet determined. Very welcoming landlady who said that always prepared to open early for groups of walkers etc if arranged in advance. Opened up at 2:45 on Monday for us even though not due to open till 17:00. Must have been the disappointed looks on our face after a days walk!
