Active Campaign

The pub closed in 2011. The Henry Jenkins Community Co-op, (a community benefit society) was formed in 2019, and is raising funds to purchase the pub, and by early 2026 had raised about £146,000. In Feb 2026 the Planning Inspectorate dismissed an appeal from one of the site's owners over North Yorkshire Council's decision to reject a planning application to convert an outbuilding into a holiday cottage (see this BBC article).
