Harrogate Brewing acquired this pub, formerly The Old Bell, in 2025 and now showcase their brewery’s beers in a town centre site. Six cask ales are served, normally all from Harrogate Brewing, but occasionally including a guest from another local brewery. There are also many keg options.

Pint prices are competitive for Harrogate town centre but are displayed only intermittently on a TV screen opposite the bar. However, note that half-pint prices include a significant premium (60p/pint). You may therefore wish to check prices at the bar before ordering.

A snack menu is available Monday to Thursday until 8pm, while on Friday to Sunday, meals are served until 8pm (4pm on Sunday).

The brewery itself is located a couple of miles out of town at Hookstone Chase with its own taproom which opens at weekends (see separate listing).

Historic Interest

The pub sits on the site of the Blue Bell Inn which closed in 1815 and was later demolished. President Bill Clinton visited the inn during a visit to Harrogate in 2001. Later the same year the pub expanded into the former Farrah's toffee shop.
