A narrow but long pub in Harrogate's Montpellier quarter of small exclusive shops, bars and restaurants. The front part of the pub is laid out for dining while the rear is furnished in a more traditional public house style. The walls are decorated with a mixture of photographs of old Harrogate, prints, some with a French aspect, and humorous signs. Tables and chairs are provided on the pavement outside in the pleasant setting of Montpellier Hill with its trees and manicured lawns. Five handpulls on the bar serve four traditional Yorkshire beers together with a cider such as Lilley's. NB. Under-18s are not permitted.
