The Jorrocks Room comemorates the hero in a novel by Robert Smith Surtees, a nineteenth century novelist who visited the pub which, built in the seventeenth century, used to be on the site. Has a plate collection and real gas lights renovated by the guv'nor Mike. Restaurant and function room. Opens at 5pm on Saturday."
The replacement building was sold in 2005 for £37m and included a 4,000 sq ft public house let to Mitchells & Butlers from 1991 as Walkers of London (later Syn Bar).
