A beautiful Victorian corner pub just outside the town centre – a true gem and the last of its kind in Rugby. Built in a wedge shape, the multi-roomed local features a traditional bar, larger refurbished lounge and two relatively new snugs converted from the kitchen and store room. Filled rolls are available at the weekend. The pub shows sport on TV and hosts quiz nights on Thursday and Sunday.
One star - A pub interior of special national historic interest
Listed status: Not listed
The public bar here is worth a look for its original Victorian bar back, slatted bench seating and splendid M&B decorative etched windows (three of the original six survive). An off-sales was incorporated into the room, hence the two doors. The lounge has modern bar fittings but part of the old bar has been turned into a feature on the wall.
