Although remotely situated, high quality, well kept ales and superb food make this a thriving pub. Built in 1593, burnt down and rebuilt in 1711, the oldest part today is the small bar housing an inglenook fireplace. The lounge features an intriguing central double sided log fire. Six acres of grounds include a children's play area, aviary and a large beer garden which gets busy in the summer evenings. Current favourite beers at the pub which appear regularly include beers from Castle Rock, Abbeydale, Enville & Blythe breweries. Open all day on Bank Holidays 12pm-11pm (except Christmas Day). Level entry to the pub, bars, restaurant & toilets; toilets can be use by those with limited mobility but not those totally confined to a wheelchair.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
