Reopened in January 2023 following a substantial refurbishment. The building is both older and larger inside than the exterior would suggest. The open plan interior has exposed beams (thought they may not all be genuine!)and a flagstone floor. The left hand side is for drinking, the right hand more for food. A small function room is well used by local clubs and societies. An attractive garden is to be found at the rear via steps and a slope from the right hand side of the bar. past the toilets and kitchen. Wheelchair access is possible to the bar, but not the toilets or the guest accommodation which is available in five rooms upstairs. Car parking is only available for those staying, There are no TVs, but music can be on the loud side including in the garden unfortunately. . The four handpumps dispense Taylor's Landlord and three guest beers, often including beers from Ossett brewery.
