Recently taken over by enthusiastic new owners, The Horseshoes was run down, but is being brought up to scratch but there is still much work to be done. Although one bar, it is divided into three areas, one of which has a pool table. A wood burning stove keeps the pub warm. Food consists of pizzas, except for Sunday when traditional lunches are served. At weekends, a food van is often in the car park. A friendly atmosphere prevails. The three beers are usually from Shropshire breweries, but can be from further afield. It is planned to bring the outbuildings into use and upgrade the outdoor area and land belonging to the pub to hold events including classic car meets (the owner has a collection of his own) and possibly a beer festival. Monthly quiz nights are held in aid of charity.

It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
