Belgian style bar.
Established in 2007 and featuring in the Good Beer Guide ever since, Hops is a friendly, family-run, Belgian style bar, free from brewery tie and popular with all ages and clientele. Real Ales from national, regional, and local breweries are served. Stronger beers on the left of the six hand pumps, session beers to the right. The full range of real ale styles is usually available as well as up to six real ciders and perries. The extensive selection of bottled beers is predominantly, but not exclusively, sourced from Belgian breweries. Hops is an accredited Orval Ambassador, one of only a few such premises in the UK. The front patio is extremely popular in better weather. Close to the town centre, and in the shadow of Christ Church tower, Hops has won numerous awards. An active social media presence often features Achilles, the Hops cat.
