This Pub is Permanently Closed

A report in the Bury & Norwich Post** on Aug-30 in 1887 when Albert William Ruse was the landlord states that : "Albert William Ruse, landlord of the "Granby", stated in court that he had refused to serve Robert Bond, labourer, in the past. On this occassion some one else had obtained the drink for him & he became very disorderly & refused to quit when requested. Bond in his defence told the court that he had "not been thoroughly drunk for several years & knew nothing of what took place". He was fined 5s with 10s 6d costs."
