Popular privately-owned late 19th-century free house, overlooking the Dove valley and with a fine view of Tutbury Castle from the extended rear patio.
The two split-level rooms, public bar and lounge, have a homely feel and are served from a similarly split-level bar. There is a separate large dining room to the rear.
This is the only pub in the area which has remained loyal to Draught Burton Ale since its launch by Ind Coope (in Burton) in 1976 through to its 2015 reincarnation by Burton Bridge.
