Imposing attractive village pub, parts of which date back to the 16th-century, although an alehouse may have occupied the site for over 1,000 years.
The interior is open plan, with several linked rooms around a central bar (serving counter only on one side, facing the main entrance). The mixture of high and low ceilings, some with beams, together with slate, quarry tile, wooden and carpeted floors, plus dim lighting, provide some 'olde worlde' charm with an intimate and convivial atmosphere.
Bar snacks available (not Sunday evening), with a la carte menu plus specials; Vintage Pie Day Wednesday; Fish Day Friday.
Quiz night Tuesday.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
