Previously part of Wetherspoons estate, the pub closed in 2017 but partially re-opened as the Birdhouse, under new ownership, 17 Jul 2026 - not yet fully surveyed, but believed to be planning to have two real ales on, to start with, from Bristol Beer Factory, and Hop Union, then up to four, once cellar cooling has been installed.
Opening hours are unknown.
Record refers to pre-2017 status
Large and comfortable town centre Wetherspoon pub with an impressive Victorian stone frontage, set next to Trowbridge old Town Hall. The usual Wetherspoon regulars are supplemented by a good selection of ever changing guests, many of them from local brewers, while those from further away tend to come from more interesting breweries. Bus stops are directly outside.
Less than a minute's walk away is the Albany Palace, another Wetherspoon pub.
