Skippers Bar is a vibrant, busy bar, especially in the evenings, with a mainly youngish clientele and multiple TV screens. It is part of the Kirkwall Hotel, which overlooks the harbour. There is a large, separate, lounge area with a whisky bar, often hosting functions and wedding parties.

Both the lounge, in season, and the bar serve one real ale in season and you can move between bars via a connecting corridor.
