The small, cosy bar on the first floor of what was originally a hospital from 1845 till 1927 is still a good place to recuperate! During the winter the open fire creates a cosy atmosphere whilst the beer garden, on the same level, is the place to be in summer. There is an adjoining restaurant. All the amenities of Kirkwall are within easy reach, including St Magnus Cathedral, and there is a busy shopping street, not dominated by national chains. Beer only in Summer.
