Interesting friendly country pub in a small village. Three separate areas, with the bar in between the games area and the restaurant. It re-opened in May 2024 under community ownership, and won CAMRA's Pub Saving Award for 2024. The bar is new, created especially for the pub by a local joiner whose "trade mark" (a ram's head) appears in the wood. Phone ahead if you wish to stay the night - there are only two guest rooms! The nearby church features a large Russian cross 'rescued' from Sebastopol during the Crimean War. Please note that the pub may close up to two hours earlier than advertised if all the customers have left.

The pub's owners had applied for change of use to housing. A local community group (The Old Horn Community Pub Society Limited, a Community Benefit Society) was formed to explore options, including to have the pub registered as a Asset of Community Asset Value and to pursue purchasing the pub. The community group had its application for grant funding approved in principal. In July 2023 the community group completed the purchase of the pub,. They received £180,000 in investment from shareholders and this was then matched by a government funding grant. The pub reopened in May 2024 after significant refurbishment.
