This Other Drinking Establishment is Permanently Closed
This is an other drinking establishment and you may be charged for entrance at certain times.
Back in 1989 was described as a busy 'Regent Inn' house with some decorative bar fittings abd an attractive Courage mirror. Runs a 'guess the beer game'. A regular in the GBG during the 90s.
Acquired by Ambishus Pub Co from Regent Inns in 1998, it closed in 2002 and all signage removed by 2004 when the pub and the surrounding buildings were part of a major re-development which lasted several years. Permission was granted in 2012 to reopen an extended bar and restaurant on the ground floor and basement of 87 and 89 George Street. A license was granted in February 2013. Subsequently the license has been surrendered and the work does not appear to have taken place. As of 2015 the ground floor is still vacant.
