Amwell Springs Brewery outdoor "pop-up" bar opened in May 2022 and is open only on Friday afternoons and evenings though the summer months. It is located in an attractive tree covered area by a chalk stream brook, about 60 metres south-west of the brewery. The bar sits on one side of a roughly rectangular area, with a stretch tent on the adjacent side with benches that can seat around 70 under cover. A wooden bridge over the brook leads to an outdoor seating area of benches on the opposite side to the tent. The fourth side is frequently occupied by a pop up street food vendor.
The hand-pumped ales are cask conditioned, but if there is a heavy demand one maybe bright, i.e. freshly racked off from a cask conditioned container in the brewery. There are seven handpumps in total, dispensing four different Amwell Springs beers.
The Pop Up Bar is also the Amwell Springs Brewery Shop, but it is advisable to pre-order polypins or mini-kegs, as the bar tends to be very busy during opening hours.
It is also advisable to check their website or Facebook before visiting as it may not open every Friday, due to private bookings.
The bar is readily accessible via a 15 minute walk from Cholsey railway station, or Thames Travel136 bus stop in Papist Way.
