This friendly village local, together with its partner restaurant, the Five Little Pigs in Wallingford, is renowned for its excellent quality food with ingredients sourced from local producers.
While remaining food-led, three real ales are usually available with at least one from local microbreweries, and others coming from further afield. As well as formal dining spaces throughout the interior, there is relaxed sofa-style seating in front of the fire in the main bar, as well as towards the restaurant area at the rear.
Reopened on 8 December 2022 with new tenants and a new name as the "Bear of North Moreton"; the new tenants also run the Keep bar and Five Little Pigs restaurant/bar (both in Wallingford). It had been closed on 22 September 2022 as the Bear by the previous lessees.
