This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
The Great Western Railway Staff Association (GWRSA) Club is a very friendly and welcoming members social and sports club close to the entrance to Didcot railway station, although is no longer formally connected to the railway.
Membership is open to all and the club is also open to non-members, who are always very welcome to drop in for a beer and conversation. Frequent visitors may eventually be asked if they would like to join the club, which attracts a £17.50 joining fee and thereafter an annual renewal cost of £15 (as of March 2026).
Although having a rather unprepossessing entrance, and the look of a light commercial unit, it is deceptively large inside. As well as the main bar area there several other large rooms, including a snooker room, with two tables and bar billiards, and a function room that is set up with five tournament standard darts boards. The main bar also has further darts boards and a pool table, as well as several sports screens.
There are two regular cask ales and an occasional third changing beer, sourced nationally. No food apart from normal bar snacks.
The function room hosts regional darts tournaments and also live country and western music events on the first weekend of the month. There is occasional live music from other genres at other times.
This Club serves 1 changing beer (Occasional third changing beer) and 2 regular beers.
