Records date back to the early 16th century, although the current building was constructed about 1800 and is a listed building. Was called The George prior to 1926. Two bar areas, with old photos, letters, plates and foreign bank notes on the walls. Collection of cheese dishes in display cabinet. Restaurant is spread over four dining areas. Extensive a-la-carte menu and a specials board. Accommodation available in converted barns. Live music on some Saturdays.
The pub closed unexpectedly and it is understood the owners will be looking for new tenants.
