This Pub is Permanently Closed

The oldest pub in Headington Quarry, originally a school (1805), a pub since 1870, the Chequers is a large building with a well-kept garden. In 2011 sub-divided so that the bar area remains, but the lounge was operated as Aziz Restaurant (Indian and Bangladeshi). Dec 2023 planning application 23/01869/FUL change of use to dwelling (class C3) approved.
