This Pub is Permanently Closed

Following the pub's sale and its closure repeated attempts were made to prevent it being converted into residential use when the owners took advantage of a planning trick to convert it into an estate agent's office. In 2017,it reopened as a cocktail bar/restaurant called Drunch. Described as, "Our stylish modern venue exudes the unique environment thanks to (an almost living room like) warm, cozy interior design. Our New extension of Drunch Mayfair in an elegant Gastropub format is the perfect fit for the development of the Drunch Brand." You can go inside for just a drink but so far only bottles, Peroni, Sol, Heineken, Blue Dog IPA, Meantime. Users of the garden have to buy a meal. For old times sake, a picture of how the pub used to be is shown on the site.

As of Aug 2017 the premises was the subject of no fewer than 5 planning enforcement investigations with a 6th in the pipeline. The alleged planning breaches included the mounting of an external extract flue, decking, signage, unauthorised change of use from A4 to mixed use as A4/A3 and Shisha lounge.

Registered as an Asset of Community Value with Westminster Council, expiring 13 Feb 2020.
