This Pub is Permanently Closed

Pub never reopened after the first COVID lockdown in Spring 2020 and subsequently displayed a for sale/to let sign and was boarded up. A planning application was submitted in January 2022 for demolition of the pub and construction of a foodstore.

Demolished in March 2024 for redevelopment of site as a Sainsbury's Express.

Planning approval DC/084061 Demolition of existing Public House (Use Class : Sui Generis) and the erection of a convenience store (Use Class : E) with associated access from Buxton Road, car and cycle parking, hard and soft landscaping, ATM, satellite dishes, bollards, boundary treatments, external lighting and plant. Approved 07 Aug 2023
