This Pub is Closed Long Term
What we used to call a basic boozer. Dating from the early 19th century, originally two properties, one of which was a post office, but in its present form it hasn't changed for years and is one of just two survivors from all the pubs that used to be on this stretch of Portswood Road. The front is the public bar, complete with darts area and at the back is the small lounge bar which also gives access to the comfortable smoking area and garden. The garden provides well for kids (and maybe adults?) with a good sized trampoline and other garden games. The bar itself bridges the public and lounge and has a crafty rotating spirit optics carousel. Just one hand pump serves well kept Ringwood 49er.
We have heard that this pub will be closing mid May 2018.
