This Pub is Permanently Closed
Charming, Grade II listed, 15th century pub set in this quiet hamlet, within walking distance of the Severn. There are three river walks of varying lengths displayed outside, which are very popular, especially in summer. The Red Hart offers a separate restaurant with a bar area which features an original well and a wealth of beams throughout. Popular for meals for special occasions, as well as for good everyday fare. Five changing guest ales are offered in a friendly atmosphere with a good mix of locals and visitors. Three real ales plus local cider. Closed Monday lunchtime. (Steve Harborne)
That was the review of the Red Hart in 2009. Unfortunately the landlady fell ill and sadly passed away in December 2010. After a few months of closure the Red Hart re-opened in the Spring of 2011 under the control of a management owner whilst a new owner was found. Despite honourable intentions by the purchaser to retain the license after some necessary renovation work it seems that work involved was financially challenging and the Red Hart never re-opened.
