This Pub is Closed Long Term

The Grapes closed on 5 August 2018. It was the second Wetherspoon pub to open in central Sutton; the Moon on the Hill remains open. The Grapes was built in Victorian times as a pub and hotel, was for many years a Whitbread house and at one time was a Berni Inn.

Historic Interest

Reasonably well preserved Victorian public house. Some original features and detailing remain on the upper storeys, also on the roof top balustrade. Unfortunately there have been some unsympathetic alterations to windows at the pub entrance but as a whole it retains its architectural merit. Locally Listed (LL64)
