Historic Interest
Delicensed 05/01/09 well after closure, landlord Gulab Mistry, owner Mistry Brothers. The Pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Greenall Bitter, both light and dark Mild (E), with Juke Box, darts, snacks. Recently saved from demolition by petition from customers. In 1981 the pub had been sold and it was March 1983 when it reopened and it was selling Boddingtons Bitter (H) which in May 1983 was 53p a pint. By October 1983 Boddingtons Mild (H) had replaced the Keg OB Mild. In February 1985 it was mentioned that it was doing much better now it wasn't a Greenall Whitley tied pub. In October 1985 a chippy had been incorporated into the pub, orders were taken at the bar as well as a takeaway, this later became the Cafe. In July 1986 Higsons Mild and Bitter replaced the previous Boddingtons. The Pub sold the cheapest pint in the 1987 Prices Survey with Higsons Mild (58p), Boddingtons and Higsons Bitter (60p). The Pub was listed in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Boddingtons Mild and Bitter and Higsons Mild and Bitter (H). It was i ncluded on the 1989 Great North Western Beer Festival Town Centre Pub Crawl. By the 1992 Great North Western Beer Festival the beers were Bass Bitter and Special Bitter and Stones Bitter. The 1994 Prices survey visited here on May 19th.
