An attractive Victorian corner pub. Brick Gothic-style exterior with tall chimneys. Formerly several rooms, refurbished in traditional style by Greenalls in 1989. Reopened in 2014 after further modernisation. Central entrance into a front bar, opened out with two former snugs flanking the entrance and corridor; a modern L-shaped lounge at the rear. Sports TVs and Indian food. It retains a 'pubby' character.
Historic Interest
Built in about 1879, the licence being transferred from an older pub in West Bond Street. Owned by Shipstone's Brewery of Nottingham from about 1922, and later to Greenalls.
