A former drovers inn, the White Lion was built in the mid-1600s and is the highest pub in Wharfedale. It sits next to the cascading Cray Gill beneath Buckden Pike and is popular with walkers, cyclists and anyone exploring the countryside. The main bar area is stone-flagged with three distinct areas on two levels and with a roaring fire. The bar-top is made from a single piece of oak and the side room has been furnished with settees and comfy chairs to create a snug, complete with wood-burning stove. Accommodation consists of nine letting rooms, some in the original pub and the rest in the adjoined converted barn.
