This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Wellington Arms was situated just to the east of the town centre, close to Milton Barracks and what is now the Guru Nanak Gurdwara. It traded from 1844 to 1960, and after closure it was converted into a shop (currently Annaika, a clothes emporium).
Like many other pubs in the town, it was a Russell's tied house in the early 20th century, passing to Truman's in 1930 on takeover.
