This Pub is Closed Long Term
Sutton Council's planning committee decided on 3 December 2025 that the premises does not have to be a pub, and can be used for other purposes.
Originally opened as the John Jakson in 2000 in a former Boots shop. It reopened as the Wallington Arms on 12 June 2014, and was closed by Antic on 7 July 2019. The single bar was decorated in a quirky style typical of Antic's pubs and included pictures of birds on the walls. Up to four of the eight hand-pumps were in use for cask ales, which could include well-known and local ales, and real cider was usually available. A good selection of wines was on offer too. The house beers (Volden) were brewed by Antic's own brewery, then in Croydon. A board at the end of the bar displayed pump clips for beers awaiting dispense. The dining room could be used as a function room.
