This Pub is Permanently Closed

Although there were rumours that this pub was to re-open as a "sports bar", it's now reported in the press that it's going to be converted in to a drug rehabilitation centre. Prior to Civic drive being built an earlier pub called Queens Head was located on this site.

Historic Interest

This modern pub once had a large single drinking bar. Located close to Wolsey Theatre. First licensed provisionally April 8th 1965, with final grant July 27th 1967. An advert in the The Bury & Norwich Post** on Tue 13 March 1866 lists this pub as part of the sale of Stonham Brewery together with 26 other premises.
