Trades, Rotherham (Hive)

Former Social club that reopened as a music venue in May 2015. Usually open Thursday - Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoon and early evening and on Rotherham United home match days. May also open some lunchtimes. There are plans to open on other occasions and to encourage local musicians to organise events and use it for rehearsals. The box office is open at the venue 11.30am to 1.30pm Wednesday - Saturday. Has recently installed a big screen for showing films and sports TV. Draught real ale was introduced during 2018 but was removed due to lack of sales. Some craft keg and bottled beers are offered. There are a few seats and tables out front. Close to bus and rail stations and next door to the Bridge Inn. A games room has also been added where there is a full size snooker table plus pool, darts and table top games. An acoustic lounge plus open mic occurs on Sundays. Taken over by the Rotherham Underground Arts Collective in October 2019. Suffered from flood damage in late October 2019 and was closed fro a time as a result. Reopened briefly until Covid closed it. Demolished by end of March 2022 and replaced by a car park in May 2022.
