Recently reopened under new management, this locally owned, free house has several drinking areas. Close to main shopping areas and bus and train stations. Handy for visiting the nearby Minster and the historic Chapel on the Bridge. The single real ale, currently New York Pale, comes from the local Chantry Brewery. Often busy in the daytime and early evening. There is an outside yard area. Competitively priced real ale. There are a number of screens showing sports TV. Busy on Rotherham United home match days.
Historic Interest
Earliest date 1758, when it was known as the Bull. This had changed to the Angel Hotel by 1783, it was rebuilt in 1915, when Bridgegate was widened, to the designs of H. L.Tacon.
