Historic Interest

In March 1976 it was listed as selling Walkers Bitter. The pub was listed in John Stotts 1977 Guide to Good Beer in Bolton as selling Walker Bitter and Tetley Mild (H), with TV, Juke Box, darts, pool and snacks. The Masons down the road offered the same but it is over the Bolton boundary in Atherton. It was listed in the 1980 and 1985 selective Greater Manchester Beer Guides. A social was held here on October 21st 1980 (after the match!) In May 1981 it was a Tetley Walker pub selling Tetley Mild and Walkers Best Bitter (H). Another social was held here on September 27th 1981. It was in the Good Beer Guide in 1983 and 1984. It was a starting point of a Pub Crawl on November 10th 1985 and again on June 22nd 1986. The pub was included in the 1989 Beer in Bolton Guide as selling Tetley Mild and Walkers Bitter (H). In January 1993 the pub was swapped from Tetley to Burtonwood. By October 2002 the pub had closed, and by December 2004 it was to become an Italian restaurant. This had opened by August 2006 and was called Andiamo.
