This Pub is Permanently Closed

Pub dated back to 1870, but was in decline in it's later years, often run by temporary managers. It finally closed down in June 2011 and owners Greene King leased it out to be operated as an indian restaurant. It re-opened in late July 2011 as Shunar Bangla, but no real ale available. It did not last long and was reported closed in February 2012. The brewery applied for planning permission to convert into a house and also built 2 new houses on the car park.
