The pub closed in Feb 2022 and reopned in June 2022 as The Tamil Prince. "Former Roti King executive chef Prince Durairaj and operations director Glen Leeson, who last year launched south Indian street food concept Tamila in Hackney, have launched their joint pub venture. The duo have reopened The Cuckoo, a 19th century pub in Islington’s Hemingford Road, as The Tamil Prince, again offering south Indian cuisine. " Drinkers only are welcome.

Previously - after a few years as an Indian restaurant the Cuckoo came back as a pub, in March 2016. What turns around, comes around.

Local Listing:- c1850s. Three storey. One building. Free Italianate style. Stock brick and rusticated stucco. No. 115 corner pub with ground floor entablature, composite capitals to pilasters. First floor to cornice two pilasters at ends. 115 with blind upper recesses. Large windows with ornate stucco pilasters, cornice above. Stone plaque in centre. No. 117 ornate cornice bracketed.
