Historic Interest

The pub was built about 1847 and listed in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. An Argyle Brewery pub transferred to Birkenhead Brewery in 1866. The old photo shows the pub in the 1870s and the 1880s. The new Talbot on the same site was opened in 1969 when the old pub was demolished and is now the car park for the new pub.
