This is a large one room pub in a prominent position in the High Street. There has been a pub on this site since the fourteenth century. The present building was designed in 1905 and rebuilt in 1931.

Reopened on 30th June 2026 with a new tenant who is still sorting out this pub after the departure of Big Smoke. No food available until the kitchen is made operational. When visited on the 2nd July the pub was quite bare with just a few keg beers available. On a subsequant visit (22nd July at 2.55pm), the pub was closed! Seen though the window, of the six beer pumps only one had a Spitfire clip attached.
