This is a large one room pub in a prominent position in the High Street. There has been a pub on this site since the fourteenth century. The present building was designed in 1905 and rebuilt in 1931.
Reopened on 30th June 2026 with a new tenant who is still sorting out this pub after the departure of Big Smoke, so the pub is quite bare at the moment. The six beer pumps are not in use when visited on the 2nd July only some of the keg lines: Guinness (+cold), Shepherd Neame's First Drop (£6.70), Whitstable Bay?, Spitfire Lager?, Cruzcampo?, Amstel? and a cider? but these are likely to change. No food available until the kitchen is made operational.
