The Swan is the oldest pub in Bampton and was the original lodgings for the masons and craftsmen who were hired to enlarge the nearby church. Renowned for its food offering for many years, it has also retained a reputation for beer also. After closing in in 2024, the new management team have, if anything, improved both. The main room has a solid feel, with oak fittings, polished wood tables and boarded flooring, to give it a confident feel. The large fireplace contains the original bread oven from 1450. A large public car park, on the site of the old railway station, is just up the lane.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer (usually from Salcombe Brewery) and 1 regular beer.
