A traditional village local, rebuilt in 1910, the Sun was bought from Brakspear in 2013 by a local businessman when it became a free house. It serves three local real ales, at the lowest price in the area, and traditional good-value, home-cooked pub food lunchtime and evenings Wednesday-Saturday, including a popular roast on Sunday lunchtimes. The food is also provided as a takeaway service. Has a log fire in the bar on cold winter days and benches at the front and on the rear patio for warmer summer days.
The pub hosts several events, such as classic car shows and chess player meetings. Morris dancers perform 2 - 4 times a year out front of the pub in summer months. The Stoke Row Rally is held every June in an adjacent field, owned by the pub owner. Check their Facebook page for the latest events.
Has wheelchair access via the side entrance, but no specific disabled toilets. A defibrillator is located o the left of the front porch entrance.
