An attractive 18th century country style pub, nestled in the small riverside village of Whitchurch on Thames and just a few yards from the Whitchurch toll bridge.
The pub is housed in an historic building and has an attractive ambience with an open fire in the main bar. The pub has ceased operating primarily as a restaurant and the former restaurant area will be refurbished and converted into a second bar and, when complete, the pub will have two bar areas surrounding a central serving area. Connecting the two bars on one side is a ‘snug’ area with one table suitable for seating up to six customers. Some level of basic bar food will be offered from the end of October 2026. The pub is family and dog friendly and has a car park and garden. There is also a function room awaiting refurbishment.
There is a defibrillator on the corner of Manor Road, 200m north of the pub, located on the west side of the road in a disused red telephone box.
Reopened in late July 2026 with new tenants, having closed in May 2026 after the previous tenants left. Reopened in October 2025 having closed in June 2022 following the death in May 2022 of the previous leaseholder.
