This Pub is Permanently Closed

Large one bar-pub next to the University campus, the last remaining pub of five in Burgess Road. The University bought & demolished the last two just for car parking. Re-branded in 2013 as a John Barras pub, it has been tastefully redecorated with an emphasis on wood. The University had always owned the freehold for this pub and come September 2017 Greene King's lease ended for reasons that were not entirely clear. The lease is available but no interest has been shown and the pub remains closed.
